INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS AND THEIR IMPACT ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The rapid transformation of higher education has increased the demand for innovative teaching methods that promote active learning, critical thinking, and lifelong learning skills. Traditional teacher-centered instruction is gradually being replaced by student-centered pedagogical approaches that encourage collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. This study explores the impact of innovative teaching methods on student learning outcomes in higher education through a qualitative review of educational literature. The findings indicate that active learning strategies, collaborative learning, project-based learning, and technology-supported instruction significantly improve academic achievement, student motivation, and classroom engagement. However, successful implementation depends on institutional support, teacher competence, curriculum flexibility, and continuous professional development. The study concludes that adopting innovative teaching approaches contributes to educational quality and prepares graduates for the challenges of the modern workforce. (ERIC)
